Mountain CAP of WV, Inc., a CDC, offers free financial literacy courses to the residents of Braxton, Upshur, and Webster Counties.  We utilize two nationally recognized financial literacy curricula from Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's (FDIC) Money Smart and Syble Solomon's Money Habitudes.  These courses are designed to educate participants in a variety of basic and advanced financial topics and to promote fiscal responsibility.

 

The course begins with the core components of basic budgeting, using simulated envelope budgeting exercises, and progresses to advance budgeting techniques and understanding spending habits.  Additional courses include topics such as understanding financial accounts and using credit wisely.
